The maniACTs winter term production 2011/12:
This term join the maniACTs in an unflinching look at the brutal consequences and human drama of a jewelry heist gone horribly wrong. All hell breaks loose for a ragtag bunch of professional robbers when their elaborately planned coup suddenly does not prove as clean and easy as anticipated.
Joanne Cabot and her son Eddie, kingpins of organized crime in late 1980s Los Angeles, hire five robbers who do not know each other. These are given aliases so no connection can be drawn between them if things get messy. And messy they get. Soon panic and distrust spread among the gangsters. Have they been set up? Who sold them out? Who's the rat? As time advances the inevitable takes its toll.
Quentin Tarantino's film debut and cult hit uncompromisingly relates a violent story of trust, treachery, and the human flaw. The maniACTs adaptation of the movie explores both the differences between screen and stage and the psychological abyss beyond the seemingly cool exterior of Reservoir Dogs' protagonists.
